<p class=MsoNormal>The date is set…<o:p></o:p></p>
<p class=MsoNormal>Sunday April 5, 2009 the annual Tenandeho White Water Derby
will be held in Mechanicville, NY. Registration from 9-11 AM, Race starts
at noon at Coons Crossing Bridge. This is a 4.5 mile downstream race that
starts in a flooded creek, then goes thru several sets of good rapids (Class
II-III depending on water level), then goes thru downtown Mechanicville.
There are usually lots of spectators. There are also rescue crews after
each major rapid. It is open to kayakers, canoers - solo or tandem or polers.
Usually the most dangerous obstacles on the river are the aluminum canoes that
get stuck sideways in front of you. If you have any questions let me
know. <o:p></o:p></p>
